DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Learn assembly techniques to assemble Electrical or Mechanical EMTEQ Products by having a understanding of EMTEQ Quality Procedures, Work Instruction, Travelers and Workmanship Standard.
  • Have the ability to review drawings, blueprints and schematics prior to performing assembly work and to double check that correct parts or materials have been pulled for assembly operations.
  • Build products for customers per specification and within tolerances.
  • Properly documents production work orders and work-in-process
  • Follow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures.  Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by lead workers.

   Electrical Assembly   
  • Cut and measures wire or cable to ensure all wires will fit and operate properly.
  • Prepare wire or cable for next process (strip insulation, forming  jumper wires, tinning wires, add solder sleeves, bud splices and etc…)
  • Perform soldering as required by production requirements and product specifications.
  • Clean completed solder areas with alcohol to remove debris and excess solder.
  • Crimp pin/sockets on to the wires or cable and assembly into connector as required. 
  • Applies heat shrinks, sleeving and labels per product specifications and also spot tying the assembly where required.  
   
   Mechanical Assembly
  • Perform complex electro-mechanical assembly work.
  • Experience with small hand tools a must with some experience using semi-automated equipment.
  • Solder and assemble components.
  • Use precision measuring devices to ensure accuracy.
  • Test assembly after assembling.
  • Good understand of the functional operation of the items assembled as well as finished product
    Entry Level of either Mechanical or Electrical - Grade 11
  • General Knowledge of either Electrical Assembly or Mechanical Assembly
  • General Solder ability (jumper wires, wires to connector)
  • 3 Months Experience
    Intermediate Level of either Mechanical or Electrical - Grade 9
  • Be able to do both Electrical and Mechanical assembly to some degree.
  • Proficient  at Soldering (solder components (SMT, Lead))
  • Knowledge of product requirements and EMTEQ requirements. This knowledge can be acquired through formal education, on-the-job training, train on jobs of a lesser degree either within the organization or external.

Project Engineer (Electrical Emphasis) - WI

POSITION OBJECTIVES:

Works with sales, customers, production, materials management, vendors and quality in a technical capacity to design, develop, test, and launch new products or upgrade existing products.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Apply knowledge of mechanical, optical, and electrical design principles to create lighting fixtures and sub-level assemblies.
  • Apply knowledge of plastics, metals and materials used in lighting construction.
  • Apply knowledge of circuit boards for use in LED lighting
  • Aid in design of circuit boards using ORCAD
  • Apply knowledge of Embedded Software Logic in LED lighting
  • Apply knowledge to different regulatory agency approvals, burn properties, etc.
  • Prototype, build and test light assemblies
  • Coordinate Design Review
  • Source new vendors, source new products and tooling
  • Coordinate RTCA/DO-160 testing, flammability testing and EMI/RFI testing
  • Coordinate with contract engineering for design of new projects
  • Organize/Manage Design Projects (DP’s) including meetings, documentation, ER’s oversee tasks associated with the DP

Beginner Level

  • Audit and monitor quality requirements in accordance with the company quality assurance policies and customer specifications.
  • Conduct inspections at First Article, in-process, in-coming and completes the final inspections.
  • Document and report inspection findings and results and monitors corrective actions to inspection findings.
  • Perform material kit audits to insure accuracy and integrity of the kitting process.
  • Perform product identification and traceability activities, as required.
  • Document information on the computer in various databases and other internal programs; logs the assembly non-conformities and generates a report (NCR).

Advanced Level

  • Work with other company personnel to resolve inspection questions. Communicate with project engineers to ensure schematics are in compliance with the final product.

POSITION OBJECTIVES:

Under limited supervision, this position will be responsible for administration of Quality Assurance Documentation activities; focusing on customer satisfaction. Directs and coordinates activities of both teams. Will personally interact with internal customers to resolve quality documentation issues. Also performs inspection and testing duties to insure that shipped product fulfills all customer specifications and quality requirements.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Review, Edit, and electronically link/file EMTEQ’s documented procedures (QSP’s, WI’s, QTP’s) which maintain EMTEQ’s compliance to the AS9100 standard and customer satisfaction.
  • Understand documentation requirements of AS9100 Standard, in order to authorize compliance to existing procedures and processes, when requested.
  • Assist teams / individuals to develop their own procedures while maintaining the standard AS9100/EMTEQ format.
  • Continuously improve the distribution of documents (eg. Production work instructions / workmanship standards) where best utilized (eg. D-line may have work instructions per cell where A-line per program).
  • Initiate with document authors, and verify, the completion of training and filing of training records for new or revised procedures.
  • Assist in coordination of quality assurance activities within the Quality Areas.
  • Understand quality control plans or process control procedures that will ensure production of finished products that meet the applicable quality specification and standards.
  • Work in all areas of inspection: incoming, in-process, and final inspection.
  • Understand gauges and calibration, drawings, and industry specs.

JOB COMPETENCIES:
